GenAI from a feminist perspective @ Library of Rotterdam
In this workshop, we approach AI from a feminist perspective. This goes beyond just gender—we will also reflect on coloniality and other forms of power inequality. The session is led by researchers Francisca Grommé and Justien Dingelstad from the Feminist Generative AI Lab.
In this interactive session, we will dive into popular generative AI tools like ChatGPT, exploring patterns, biases, and surprises in their output. Through a game, we’ll apply feminist principles to critically examine the results, engage in discussion, challenge assumptions, and collaboratively develop new ideas. The workshop also invites you to reflect on your own relationship with AI and to deepen your understanding of how feminist values can contribute to more inclusive and ethically responsible technology.
We approach this topic through existing research on technology and society, translated into our everyday lives. Whether you're new to feminist AI theory or already deeply involved, this session offers space to ask questions, learn, and grow.
